Who Will Control America's Future!

Another week has passed and we continue to see gas prices rise because of unrest in foreign countries. With every additional penny that you pay at the pump the delivery trucks that bring food and other items to stores mustincrease their charges simply to keep up with the rising cost of imported fuel. In effect, outsiders are controlling major portions of America's economy and our nation's future.

I'm disappointed to say that for years Americans ignored many warning signs of things to come. In fact, it was just a few years ago that gas was over $4.00 per gallon, which caused people to travel less and hurt many levels of America's economy. Once the prices dropped, the outcry diminished and everything went back to normal. But as I look back, I wonder WHY when the price at the pump went down, prices of goods in stores didn't go down.

As I hear from listeners and readers, I see that people are concerned about America's future well-being and in many cases feel helpless about the situation. I urge you not to feel helpless because you see for yourself that the American people are uniting for change. You hear the concerns of the American people every day in the news media. You hear people voicing their concerns to store managers and cashiers. You see that people are looking at labels and are shopping around to find items made in the U.S.A. All of these reactions are being heard by importers, business owners, and elected officials. Change can't happen overnight, but if things continue as they are today, real change is on the way. The seeds of change are being planted as the voice of the American people grows louder at the cash register, at corporate headquarters, and in the hall of state capitals. Help make this voice heard even more by supporting the products made in the U.S.A. and by spending your dollars in support of America's industries and American workers.

Our goal is to have a "MADE IN THE U.S.A." LABEL on at least 50% of the items available in major stores. With that goal realized, we will see industries restored and America's economy flourish. However, all that has been discussed through the Buy American Made Campaign and the changes that need to come about depend on how you choose to spend your dollars.

This is Michael Blichasz. I urge you to spread the word to family members and friends. Thanks to Diane Sawyer of ABC's World News for featuring the Made in America challenge. It continues to be an eye-opener as I hear from people that saw the reports. I also want to thank the radio programs and newspapers who continue to highlight the Buy American Made Campaign.
