Reward American Companies!

I’m often asked how I feel the Buy American Made Campaign is progressing. I am pleased to report that more people than ever are seeking out American made products, some even avoiding well-known brands formerly made in the U.S.A. which are now being manufactured abroad. It is also good to hear that people are openly expressing disappointment regarding the high percentage of imported products in the stores where they shop.

In order for us to continue to make progress with this campaign, I urge you to seek out and purchase American made items, so that we can reward the companies that stayed in the U.S.A. and are keeping Americans employed.

More people are also discussing the need to upgrade our job training capabilities. This would permit people to be trained with modern day skills. In order to accomplish this, we must make our feelings known to school administrators, business, labor and political leaders. There are federal vocational training funds and tax incentives that would help expand job training programs.

Currently, it is estimated that only one out of every six people seeking employment will find a job in the near future. Every level of employment, from production to management, continues to be affected and we can’t permit this sad statistic to continue.

From your own experiences, seeking out American made products is going to take some discipline, and you may have to bypass some well-known products with American logos because they are no longer made in America. Look at the tags of everything you purchase and go out of your way to support products made by American workers.

This is Michael Blichasz, and as always, I appreciate hearing from you. I welcome your comments and suggestions and ask that you spread the word to your family and friends. You can email me from my Internet site at: or
