Back to School 2021!

Every year during the month of August, America's parents are preparing to have their children return to school and are shopping for school supplies and clothing.  This year will once again be a challenge due to ongoing changes caused by the coronavirus pandemic. In recent years school-related products went from being almost exclusively made in America to largely foreign made. This year, because of the efforts of supporters of the Buy American Made Campaign, there is some improvement, but as you can see from the labels on products, foreign made still far outweighs American made products.

In 2021, America’s parents will notice a lack of school supplies available because many are foreign made and they were not able to be shipped to the United States in a timely manner. No matter where you shop seek out American made FIRST, and also take a close look at where all the items were made.

We continue to see that customers requesting American made items have been very beneficial to the Buy American – Support American Workers Campaign. Shopping for school supplies provides another opportunity for America’s consumers to speak up in support of American made. Alerting store personnel of your concerns is being passed on to managers, owners and investors who are now concerned that if customers don’t find more American made they will walk out the door and shop elsewhere. No business these days wants to see customers walking out the door because their store has become an outlet for foreign products.

Thanks for being part of the Buy American Made Campaign. I encourage you to discuss our efforts with your family, friends and neighbors and also ask them to spread the word. Together we are making a difference. Thanks for your participation.
