Your Shopping List is Making a Difference

Supporters of the Buy American Made Campaign continue to tell me about their efforts to buy American products. Many tell me that some change has been happening but state that major stores are still overwhelmed by foreign made products. Would anyone believe that Americans would be reporting that electronics, clothing, shoes and every-day household items that fill our homes are still mainly made overseas while American workers need jobs to support themselves?

The responses that I receive are very valuable because they show that people are involved and trying to buy American made products. Because of our efforts, Americans now better understand the degree of damage caused by outsourcing production of products sold in America that could and should still be made in America.

One way you can help is by taking the Buy American Made Challenge and prepare a shopping list of the items you need to purchase. Check off what you find that is made in the U.S.A. and what is only available as an imported product. Since no one can tell any of us what to buy or who to support, your shopping list and your purchasing habits are forcing store managers to notice buying trends of America’s consumers.

The fact of the matter is that American made products, especially items like electronics, clothing, household appliances and hundreds of other items with American made labels should never be hard to find. Our main goal remains the same; expand jobs in America by supporting the businesses proudly listing their products as made in the U.S.A.
