240 years ago on the 4th of July, America’s founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence. They did it to become a free and independent nation, a place of freedom, peace, justice and prosperity.
America is the greatest nation on earth. However, in recent years we watched our nation’s manufacturing base be controlled by businesses that decided to move their manufacturing overseas to increase their profits, but still wanted America to be the ongoing sales point for their products. By bypassing American workers in search of higher profits there has been a major decline in job opportunities and job skills, which adds up to hardship for a growing number of working-age and able-bodied Americans. With fewer jobs now available, Americans of all ages see the need to be more selective in what they purchase. By being more selective in our purchases, Americans have been helping maintain and restore job opportunities for family, friends and neighbors, new high school and college graduates, veterans and all people of all ages. We have done a lot of good in recent years and we really should be receiving major support from America’s elected leaders who are fully paid with our tax dollars. As we celebrate America’s Independence, it is a good time to look back at what America’s founding fathers had in mind for our nation’s future. Spread the word, look for, ask for and go out of your way to buy American made products so we are all part of the effort to restore America’s employment base, prosperity and economy.
