American's Graduates Are Depending On Us!
|
|
At this time of year millions of talented young men and women graduate from America’s high schools and colleges, ready to enter the workforce. We wish them success with all of their future endeavors. With all the changes in the job market and the global economy, the Buy American Made Campaign continues to urge all Americans to seek out products and services provided by America’s businesses and American workers.
Every parent wants the best career opportunities for their children, and we are grateful to everyone promoting our message. Unfortunately, in the past 35 years, America’s national elected leaders watched industries move out of America to foreign countries year-after-year due to increasing taxes and regulations, which many businesses viewed as harmful to their survival in the United States.
As in any business, many types of jobs are necessary to make the products we purchase and get them to the market place. They include jobs like: ordering raw materials to make the items, developing the schedule of production, managing company operations, office staff, training competent workers, advertising, sales and delivery of products to the places where we shop. Thirty five years ago, these jobs and many more were filled by American employees. Our ongoing goal is to restore at least 50% of what is purchased in America being made by American workers, so that America’s stores can feature a balanced selection of products to customers.
We all want our present and future graduates to be part of a thriving job market place. Americans know that we are walking up a steep hill in the new global economy, but if elected leaders, business leaders, American workers, educators and America’s consumers unite to help restore businesses in America, we will achieve the success we long for.
