50% of Products Should be Made in America!

Every time you see an advertisement promoting the quality of the latest foreign made cell phones, televisions, computers and other products, consider the Buy American Made Campaign and our efforts to restore manufacturing of in the U.S.A. One question we should all be asking is "WHY aren't at least 50% of all items sold in America, made in America?"

I am all for GLOBAL COMPETITION, but I don't understand how so many of the items invented and manufactured in America for decades are now 90 to 100% made overseas. I don't understand why America's leaders, workers and consumers allowed global products to fill our stores without a major reaction many years ago to maintain jobs in the U.S.A.

When you see and hear these advertisements, consider that they are promoting the jobs skills of foreign workers, not the jobs and job skills of American workers. I believe that it's time for America to stop being the sales point for products from around the world and restore a competitive American made product for EVERY FOREIGN MADE item now sold in the U.S.A.

Presently, Americans need 40 million full and part-time jobs. Until someone convinces me why such a large portion of what's on sale in America is foreign made, I ask that you speak up where you shop and spend your dollars on products and services that support American workers FIRST.

I ask that you support your local businesses throughout the year and especially during "National Small Business Weekend" the First Friday, Saturday and Sunday of every month. For more information about this effort visit: NationalSmallBusinessWeekend.com.
