The First Weekend of Every Month!

Since 2012, American Workers Radio and the Buy American Made Campaign have been promoting the First Friday, Saturday and Sunday of EVERY MONTH as “National Small Business Weekend”. This effort came about as local businesses told us that large stores and malls were attracting more of their customers.

In order to promote the importance of supporting local businesses, we began the National Small Business Weekend effort to encourage supporters to shop at local businesses as often as possible.

Supporting locally-owned private sector businesses from hoagie and pizza shops, bakeries and the stores offering a variety of merchandise helps employ more than 60 million people across the United States of America. Additionally, up to 70% of every dollar spent at local businesses is re-circulated within local economies.

Shopping local also helps business owners understand the importance of satisfying customers who are requesting that more products with Made or Assembled in America labels be available.

In addition to circulating dollars within local communities, support for local businesses also helps in the following ways:

  • Local residents will remain employed.
  • Local delivery and marketing services are utilized.
  • Local, as well as federal and state, taxes are collected through the payroll and business tax system and used to support local, state and federal government services.
  • As more customers shop locally and seek out American made products, they help American based manufacturing facilities remain open and expand manufacturing in the U.S.A.

Because so many of our supporters have taken time to speak up in support of the Buy American Made Campaign and are directing more of their purchasing power to support American Made products, we see jobs for Americans being saved and more job opportunities being created. Help our efforts by spreading the word to others.
