We Need More Available!

During the last few years, supporters of our Buy American Made Campaign have made MAJOR progress in bringing attention to the fact that America has been flooded with foreign made products which has resulted in the loss of our industries, job skills and job opportunities associated with bringing American made products to market. Through our efforts, the American people saw that for over 30 years many businesses took the attitude that if we can’t have our products made in America at the price we want, we will outsource manufacturing overseas.

Unfortunately, this attitude and outsourcing continued for over 30 years without a major reaction from the American people. As the recession continued and there were less job opportunities available to replace those being lost, the American people have united behind efforts to restore America’s industries, job skills and weekly paychecks.

As we begin 2015, I am pleased to report that thanks to our community level efforts, progress continues to unite the American people, business leaders, the news media and elected leaders. As more of our supporters direct their money to support local businesses and products made and assembled in the U.S.A., industries have been able to maintain jobs and grow. The major challenge we face is urging business leaders to invest in America’s industries in response to the requests of America’s consumers, and as a result of seeing America’s consumers spending more of their dollars on products made in the U.S.A. As was stated in past commentaries, we’re not seeking to RESTRICT commerce, but want to work for a 50/50 BALANCE between what is made and sold in America.

As we begin the New Year, I thank David Muir of ABC World News for his ongoing efforts to promote Made In America during the evening news. I encourage all members of the news media to help support the Buy American Made Campaign so that our efforts continue to grow.
