Holiday Season "National Small Business Weekend

As you shop during the holiday season, I ask that you focus a portion of your holiday gift budget in support of National Small Business Weekend by shopping at local businesses during the First Friday, Saturday and Sunday of December. Let your local store owners know that you are supporting National Small Business Weekend which American Workers Radio will continue to promote during the first weekend of every month.

As more local businesses get involved with National Small Business Weekend, I ask that you encourage store managers to seek out more American made products from their suppliers. Locally-owned private sector businesses have the power to get more Americans employed by offering additional American made products to their customers. As you shop it is also very important that store personnel hear directly from their customers regarding stocking a larger selection of American made items. America's small businesses and local stores presently employ more than 60 million people and 70% of every dollar spent at local businesses is recirculated within local economies.

This happens in the following ways:

Local residents will remain employed.
Local delivery and marketing services are utilized.
Local, as well as federal and state, taxes are collected through the payroll and business tax system and used to support local, state and federal government services.
As more customers shop local and seek out American made products, they help American based manufacturers remain open and expand employment opportunities.

I urge you to promote these facts to your family and friends. As more Americans direct their purchasing power to support American Made products and their local businesses, the impact will benefits all of us. For more information visit:
