For hundreds of years, Americans worked hard to support themselves and their families. That was possible because they were able to find jobs in private sector industries, at small businesses or through self-employment. Everyone had something to offer and was able to earn a living. In today’s world, American workers are in competition with a growing number of workers from around the world. Understandably, leaders of those foreign countries want to keep the jobs for their workers so they manufacture quality products to remain competitive in the global economy. In order for us to return to full employment, we have to restore manufacturing of every type in the United States and bring back industries that left America to escape taxes and over regulation. For over 200 years, the majority of products sold in America were American made. In the last 35 years, America permitted too many foreign made products to enter America, and in that process, jobs for American workers were reduced in some fields by 50, 60 and 70 percent less than they were 35 years ago. The goal of the Buy American Made Campaign is to restore jobs in America and be able to supply a larger portion of the items needed by the American people with made in the U.S.A. labels and get back to no less than a 50-50 balance between American and foreign made products sold in our stores and on the Internet.
